First MoU for Key Collaborators
A Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) was signed today July 19th 2022, between The Global Rainbow Foundation and Key Collaborators.
The signing was done between Dr. Armoogum Parsuramen, (the former minister of education of Mauritius and the President of the Global Rainbow Foundation) and Vincent Hoffmann(Founder of Key Collaborators).
The MoU can be read in full here, though below I’d like to summarize and further elaborate on what this partnership looks like with the objectives, action points and points of interest.
If you’re reading this blog and are still not aware of what Key Collaborators is doing with its first project, I would encourage you to read this blog first.
This is the second blog in this series written about the Global Rainbow Foundation, to learn more about what they‘re doing’ to empower the disadvantaged.
The main objective for this project is to sell NFTs which represent physical art so that we can fund organizations on the ground which are Making A Difference. I am documenting everything en-route, therefore building trust and building the story of each art-piece as they sell showing how art and technology can be leveraged to greatly contribute to improving lives on the ground.
To give people an idea of what different things can be achieved with 1 million MUR (Mauritian Rupees) ($22k) through the Global Rainbow Foundation:
(each item below is the quantity relative to 1 million Mauritian Rupees)
- 10 mobile medical camps (100,000 MUR each)($2,200)
Each mobile medical camp comprises of mobile medical facilities and various medical professionals. The medical camp will operate in various under privileged areas and offers comprehensive medical assistance.
I will be attending the next medical camp which is this Thursday 21st July to video & document How GRF gets things done. (details to come in blog) - 200 canes with sensors for the blind (5,000 MUR each)($110)
These canes are fitted with haptic feedback and sensors. This helps blind people feel a bit more of their surroundings with vibrations felt depending on distance of object/s from cane. - 60 – 70 prosthetic limbs (15,000 MUR each)($331)
As shown in a previous blog GRF manufactures various prosthetic limbs in their workshops. - 125 wheelchairs (8,000 MUR each)($177)
Standard wheelchairs for those who could not otherwise obtain one. - 33 motorized wheelchairs (33,333 MUR each)($737)
Motorized for those with disabilities who cannot move independently without a motor. - 20 disabled people trained for employment (25,000 MUR each)($553)
This training is imperative for empower disabled people with knowhow and the confidence to be more independent.
Something I realized in the beginning of this project is that I cannot and will not wait for art to be sold to drive value for the “Hero Stakeholders”, which in this case is the Global Rainbow Foundation.
In creating content throughout this project & journey, my focus will be to generate written and video content which puts the limelight on my partners which are Making a Difference.
So even while no art is sold, a portion of my time will go to volunteering time to NGOs to either bring them exposure via my publications and network and/or by educating and inspiring the youth.
(The latter to be explained in a coming blog)
One of my objectives with this approach is to build the trust between prospective art buyers, the NGOs I am working with and myself.
Once an NFT representing one of the three paintings is sold, the changed lives will be documented and attributed to each piece of art.
Action points relating to the MoU signed today:
My plan is to accompany the Global Rainbow Foundation team on some of their initiatives and bring light to What they do and How they do it via my coming publications.
This Thursday 21st July I am attending their humanitarian convoy/medical camp in Roche Bois, Mauritius.
My hope is that through the content I create they can reach other potential partners and support as they could do a lot more if they had the funding to do it.
I have quite a few great project updates lined up so stay tuned!
Updates coming very soon, one of which involves moving the 3 respective NFTs from Open Sea onto a platform that delivers absolute trust and regulation for the NFT space. (More on that later this month)
